Well said, nearly every pro-choice advocate makes this argument and it’s just fucking dishonest most of the time. I’m very much pro-choice because a bundle of cells is no more a human than an apple is a tree. If I took the opposite stance I couldn’t give a flying fuck about “a woman’s right to chose”.

The pro-life people who make exception for rape cases etc are despicable though, either they don’t believe that life begins at conception and think that “it’s completely their fault for getting pregnant in the first place” or they think it is ok to kill a child if they are the product of rape.

There are those who want to take away the woman’s right because they believe that the woman is irresponsible for letting herself get pregnant. These people are biggoted and ignorant, they fail to realise that even if the couple are using double protection it can occasionally fail and we can’t legislate for valid and invalid reasons for abortion. Furthermore many women have abortions because abstinence only education doesn’t teach them about contraception, the same “education” which many pro-lifer support.

I also despise the argument that “feminism is necessary because of abortion”. Apart from the first nine months it effects men just as much as women and the pro-lifers would make exactly the same argument if the roles were reversed.

A woman should absolutely have the right to chose but if a woman has the right  to decide whether she wants an abortion but if she decides to keep the child the father should be under absolutely no obligation to financially support her if he didn’t want to become a parent.
